Support is available for young people who wish to attend for travel and/or accommodation costs.
Engagement with the Ferries Directorate within Transport Scotland
YIN are looking for young people living with disabilities or are caregivers to engage with the Ferries Directorate within Transport Scotland. This opportunity will help us to
better understand the challenges in accessing ferry services across the islands.
There is an in-person opportunity to meet with Transport Scotland in Orkney on 12 August.
Online meetings can also be facilitated at alternative times and for those not in Orkney.

Ferries Consultation Orkney & Shetland
Northern Isles Ferry Services contract (NIFS4). Consultation on the ferry routes linking Orkney and Shetland with mainland Scotland are essential not only for local communities, but for the wider economic, cultural and social wellbeing of the Northern Isles.
Northern Isles Ferry Services 4 – Scottish Government consultations – Citizen Space
The public consultation will be available for 12 weeks from 22 July 2025 and until 13 October 2025.
Outer Hebrides Local Development Plan
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is running a public consultation on play spaces across the Outer Hebrides; to inform it’s new Outer Hebrides Local Development Plan
