Are you aged 12-25 and want to have your views heard about being a young islander? Meet other young people from across Scotland’s islands. Connect, share ideas and make friends while shaping and influencing what really matters to you.
This March, the Young Islanders Network (YIN) is bringing young people from islands across Scotland together in Orkney for a weekend that’s about you, your island, and your voice.
The YIN Residential 13–15 March 2026 is a chance to:
- Meet other young people who actually get what island life is like
- Have your say on decisions that affect islands and young people
- Take part in creative, interactive workshops delivered by Youth Scotland staff
- Field trip and social activities in Kirkwall on Saturday night
- Travel, stay over, eat together, and just have fun in a safe space
You don’t need experience, confidence, or to be “good at speaking up” just an open mind. Travel and accommodation are supported for island delegates, and if you’re based on Orkney, you can join us for day workshops on Saturday 14 March. The activities in this event are aimed at 12-25 year olds.
It’s your chance to help shape what happens next for island communities and have a real influence on decisions.
